This 1999 release is by Hallucinator, a unit consisting of producer Edward George, Anna Piva, and Trevor Mathison, who are active in London, England. It was released on Chain Reaction, a sub-label of the German powerhouse Basic Channell. The lacquer disc was cut by the great Moritz von Oswald.
The three tracks are: the minimal noise ensemble "Red Angel" on side A, the orthodox dub track "Sethos" with one-drop percussion and a driving synth on side B1, and the fast sequence "Phebes" with a synth that creates a halo effect and a krautrock feel on side B2.
The sound of Basic Channell and Chain Reaction is not only ultra-deep, but also has a German krautrock awakening that is actually the key. The sound has been imitated in many places, but this is the original, thanks to its German origins. German original pressing.
