This is the so-called 1922 model, which was the first to feature belt loops.
It has three distinctive details: belt loops, suspender buttons, and a cinch back.
Belt loops were added to the 501 in 1922, shortly after World War I, when it became common for men to wear belts with their pants.
Suspender buttons remained until 1937, and the cinch back until 1942.
The Levi's red tab, an icon of the brand, has been used since 1936, so it is not equipped on this model.
Before the invention of hidden rivets, the back pockets are reinforced with exposed rivets hammered from the outside.
The 12-ounce Kaihara white selvedge denim, the Arcuate stitch done with a single-needle machine that doesn't cross in the center, buttons with the company name engraved, rivets hammered into the crotch (crotch rivets), and the fine single-stitch sewing are also faithfully reproduced.
