These sandals are constructed like sturdy leather shoes, and can be worn year-round with socks. They have only been worn about 5 times and are in excellent condition. The slight scuffs on the leather are part of the original texture. These belted shoes were made at the highly-regarded Arai Hiroshi Footwear Laboratory, with design inspiration from vintage leather sandals that sus-sous designer Nishitani used to love. They are not bound by the typical image of sandals, and are made using the know-how of "shoemaking" through handmade techniques, using shoe lasts. The material is full vegetable-tanned leather from TEMPESTI, an Italian company in Tuscany founded in 1946. The hand-dyed finish gives the leather a deep, rich color. The more you wear them, the more they will conform to your feet and become more comfortable. These sandals are made as "leather shoes" that you can enjoy wearing for many years, cherishing the joy of wearing handmade shoes.
