The first generation of the Honda Civic debuted in 1972, and the Civic is now in its 11th generation. While the current model is larger, the first generation was a compact car designed for those stepping up from a mini car, measuring about 3.5 meters in length and 1.5 meters in width. The first generation Civic became globally renowned for being the first to meet the stringent U.S. emissions standards known as the Clean Air Act (Massachusetts Act), utilizing CVCC (Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion) technology, which balanced environmental performance with agile driving. Hot Wheels has chosen to base its model on the first generation, featuring a custom design that removes the front bumper and replaces it with a chin spoiler and fog lights, as well as adding overfenders to accommodate wider tires. This release is adorned with graphics reminiscent of a classic racing car.
